Monterey County supervisors restore 91 positions

Published in The Monterey County Herald – July 27, 2011

The county Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved restoration of about 91 positions previously slated for layoffs.

The positions were restored mostly because of employee pay concessions and new state funding, as well as a $2 million temporary employee contract.

Administrative changes played a key role, including recentralizing county human resources and reorganizing the Resource Management Agency so the Redevelopment and Housing Office joined the new Economic Development Department.
