Fresno County workers to speak up to Board of Supervisors

Press Release

Contact: Miesha Brown –  (559) 447-2590

In public comments and a rally, workers will point out BOS’ lack of leadership

Fresno County workers will call attention to the Board of Supervisors’ lack of leadership at Tuesday morning’s meeting. Workers will then rally outside the Hall of Records at lunchtime.

The Board of Supervisors is slated to approve a 12 percent raise for a special class of retirees working as extra help. Yet at the same time, the anti-worker board majority is demanding most of its workers take a 12 percent or higher pay cut. Workers speaking at the board’s morning session will call attention to this double standard.

Workers will rally against the board’s egregious demands outside at a lunchtime rally. If the board had its way, approximately $40 million in state and federal aid would be turned away rather than paid to Fresno County employees and then spent in Fresno County businesses.

Those that are anti-union go against the very grain of what America sdtnas for. We are a union of states, founded as a union of colonies. Divided we stand, divided we fall. Only selfish, greedy businessmen are anti-union, and the uninformed people they may dupe along the way. You folks should be ashamed of yourselves.Stop the rising tide of Fascist Corporatism!Thomas Jefferson, one of the founders of the United States democraticsystem, said I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy ofour moneyed corporations, which dare already to challenge our governmentto a trial of strength and bid defiance to the laws of our country .We the People want our country and our government back now!The fascist Republicans are destroying our country from within!
