Diverse Fresno Business Owners Urge Legislators to Support the Governor’s Balanced Budget Approach & Get California Working!
(FRESNO, CA) – Local business owners will hold a news conference Thursday in front of Senator Tom Berryhill’s Fresno’s office, urging him to protect jobs and get California working again by supporting Governor Brown’s balanced budget approach that calls for maintaining existing revenues that are set to expire in June.
A budget that doesn’t maintain existing revenues — the approach some valley legislators prefer — would mean $15 billion more in cuts, hundreds of thousands of job losses and the potential for a double-dip recession.
Governor Brown’s budget plan maintains current revenues so California can protect schools, colleges, and local law enforcement from cuts that would hurt Fresno businesses and our quality of life.
