Attend concert & fundraising event for Monterey County Animal Services
Monterey County Composers Forum is an organization presenting concerts of new and original music by Monterey Bay and Bay Area composers. The concert on March 4 will be held at Hidden Valley Music Seminars, an Institute of the Performing Arts, located in Carmel Valley, and will feature New Beginnings – new music and vocal works by Monterey Bay and Bay Area composers. Participating composers will include Benjamin Belew, Steve Ettinger, Peter Kwiek, Mary Lesher, Ed Mercurio, Heather Morris, Julie Roseman, Karl Schmidt, and Dale Victorine. Peter Kwiek is a County of Monterey SEIU member working for Water Resources Agency. Additionally, Monterey County Composers Forum will accept donations to benefit Friends of County Animal Services (FoCAS), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise funds to support programs for Monterey County Animal Services to adequately fund and support the protection, shelter and care of lost and abandoned animals throughout Monterey County. FoCAS has successfully funded the following programs/services:
- Medical equipment for on-site vet clinic
- Feline leukaemia/aids testing
- Subsidized spay/neuter programs Emergency medical treatment
- Community education programs
- On-site animal ID tag machine
- Cat playroom construction Construction of skylights in kennel area
- Subsidized Microchip Program Special subsidized adoption programs
