Progress with Fresno County!

Fresno County has agreed to come back to the table for mediation to settle our contract disputes as well as the Unfair Labor Practice charges we filed with Public Employees Relations Board.

This is a significant breakthrough in a standoff that had more than 2,000 of purple-clad county workers waging a three-day strike last month, charging the county with not negotiating in good faith.

All we’ve been asking for is RESPECT and a FAIR CONTRACT that will allow us to serve our community while at the same time provide for our families. We think that’s reasonable and we are hoping the county will agree at the end of the day that is the right thing to do for its workers.

The correct answer is C.

Black History Month (February) originated as Negro History Week in 1926. It  was celebrated during the second week of February because it coincided with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln, the president who wrote and signed the Emancipation Proclamation, and Frederick Douglass, who escaped slavery and went on to became one of America’s greatest orators and writers.
