Fresno County Bargaining Update August 30

Contract Action Team continues fight. County continues delays, walks out of negotiations.

Today’s negotiations were no better than last week’s. The county continues to negotiate using staff that has NO experience in negotiations. All they do is use stall tactics, including leaving negotiations without giving us notice. Only after we educated them on how to properly negotiate did they return to our office, once again delaying negotiations for more than half a day.

We continue our good faith efforts to reach a reasonable settlement. Your team continues the push to recover as much of our nine percent as possible and we believe that the county will soon realize that they’re running out of places to hide.  We will continue to fight until we win a fair and just contract for our members. This has been a long hard struggle; your negotiating team believes they see light at the end of the tunnel and that the long fight will prove worth it.

Thank you to the over 30 members who showed up at the CAT meeting to get involved and assist their negotiations team. We need your involvement also. Call the office and volunteer to be a CAT member. Come to the CAT meeting next Thursday, September 6th at 6PM at the Union office.  United and working together we will Win!
