Tell the Gov. to sign SB 1234

The California Legislature passed SB 1234, the bill to create the California Secure Retirement Savings Plan.

There is more hope for the future thanks to the hard work by Californians like you.  We are closer to creating an opportunity for more workers to retire in dignity, but we still have work to do before this bill becomes law. Will you help one more time?

TAKE ACTION: Make a call to Governor Jerry Brown’s office to urge him to sign SB 1234 into law today.

SEIU Local 521 Pension Committee has actively participated on this statewide campaign and collaborated with Ken Jacobs, Chair of the UC Berkeley Labor Center, to get some coverage in the media.

Read Ken’s published article in the Mercury News:
Private-sector workers deserve a secure pension program, too

Remember not every Californian has access to a retirement plan at work and many have no savings at all. We need to let Governor Brown know that no hard working Californian should have to choose between working until they die or retiring in poverty.

Show your continued support of SB 1234 by calling Governor Jerry Brown’s office and urge him to sign SB 1234 into law today.
