Washington Post economics blogger Ezra Klein hit the nail on the head today when he wrote that so-called right to work laws “give you the right to refuse to pay union dues when you work for a union shop, even though you get the wages the union bargained for, and the benefits the union bargained for, and the grievance process the union bargained for.”
Klein hosted The Rachel Maddow show Tuesday night and talked SEIU President Mary Kay Henry about why Michigan’s right to work law is dangerous for middle class workers.
“I see it (these attacks) as a reawakening for working people,” Henry said. “We’re going to build a powerful movement – and make it crystal clear that Snyder can’t get away with this.”
Michigan Gov. Snyder signed the special interest legislation despite a 17,000-person protest at the state capitol.
