The Bakersfield Californian reported on last week’s White House recognition of five SEIU 521 nurses as “Champions of Change.” 521 Vice President Carmen Morales traveled to Washington to accept the award.
“I’ve already seen the changes and the impact — it’s doing so much good,” [Morales] said. “The Affordable Care Act is giving people access. I see it day to day.”
