FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Thousands of Fresno County workers are preparing to walk off the job on Monday.
The 4,000 members of the Service Employees International Union announced a strike on Thursday. Union workers say the strike could be avoided if the county agrees to reopen contract talks, but the county said the union failed to negotiate in good faith.
The state Public Employment Relations Board has sided with the union, and accused the county of unfair labor practices.
A hearing to settle the dispute is set for later this week.
