In Fresno, SEIU 521 Latino, Women’s, AFRAM, APALA & Lavender Caucuses sponsored the following MLK, Jr. events.

Theme: Teamwork makes the Dream work

Friday, Jan. 18 – Noon – 1 p.m.: Opening Garlanding Ceremony
Fresno County Courthouse Park (at MLK Bust)

Saturday, Jan. 19, 8:30 a.m: Community Breakfast
Clovis Veterans Memorial Building – 453 Hughes Ave., Clovis (Hughes & Fifth Street)
Bring canned goods for donations. $5.00 per person
Hosted by the Clovis Police Department in partnership with the Fresno Martin Luther King Unity Committee.
Keynote speaker: Lynne Ashbeck, City of Clovis Mayor Pro Tem

Monday, Jan. 21 – 9:15 a.m.– 10:30 a.m.: March & Commemoration Program
St. John’s Cathedral, 2814 Mariposa Ave., Fresno Marchers assemble at 9:15 a.m.
March begins at 10:00 a.m., ending at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium for Commemoration Program.
“Mountain of Food” will be collected at St. John’s Cathedral.
