More than 125 Monterey County workers rallied for community services and a fair contract outside Monterey County Health Department on July 31. Workers demonstrated against the county’s failure to bring a substantive offer to the bargaining table. They’re calling on county officials to invest in a cutting-edge frontline workforce to provide quality community services.
While the cost of living has continued to increase, employees have not received a COLA in more than five years. At the same time management has continued to receive salary increases. Members are calling for a fair contract that puts taxpayers and community services first.
