When: Wednesday, Sept. 18, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Where: Madonna Del Sasso School Student Activity Center, 20 Santa Teresa Way in Salinas
This Wednesday is our chance to tell Salinas Mayor Joe Gunter which services we want the city to prioritize.
In 2014 there will likely be two competing sales tax measures in Salinas. One would fund a variety of public services including public safety, parks and recreation and more; the other would fund public safety almost exclusively.
SEIU Local 521 members provide a variety of vital services to the residents of Salinas, including:
-Library Services
-Road and Sidewalk Maintenance
-Parks and Recreation Services
-Code Enforcement
-Police Support Services
-Fire Support Services
-Community Service Officers
-Building Services
-Planning Services
-Fire inspections
And more
If we want these vital services to be included in any future sales tax measure in addition to public safety, then we need to attend this meeting and let our voices be heard.
