Quality Care @ Home: Community Heroes

Hang Trieu, 20, was born disabled with developmental delay and behavioral disorders. She cannot do anything by herself and requires 24-hour care. Through the state’s In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) program, her parents are able to provide care for Hang in their own home.

Without IHSS, individuals like Hang would be at much more expensive settings. The average cost of a nursing home is about $80,000 a year and around $10,000 to $12,000 for in-home care in California.

We ask the community to support Quality Care @ Home by investing in the workforce and increasing access to home care through more
public awareness.
