The Bakersfield city council is ratifying a new contract tonight that was overwhelmingly approved by the membership. Thanks to the skilled members of our bargaining team, we got a 2% increase in pay, uniform allowance increases and inequity pay increases for certain classes.
“We’re very happy about the whole process,” said Bakersfield Chapter Chair Billy Owens. “We were able to get a deal that worked for everyone.”
The contract will last for two years and has a reopener in 2014 with a guarantee of no takeaways.
