In a blog for SEIU.org, Millennial Coordinator Austin Thompson highlights the similarities between the class of 2013 and previous generations. They want to find good jobs, buy homes, raise families and eventually enjoy a decent retirement.
It will be decades before young Americans reach retirement age, but the National Institute on Retirement Security (NIRS) research finds Millennials are already concerned about their ability to retire and they want lawmakers to repair America’s broken retirement system by strengthening Social Security and creating a new pension system so that they too can retire with dignity after a lifetime of hard work.
