Fresno County needs leaders who are committed to putting Community First. This year, we have a strong chance of electing good candidates to the Board of Supervisors. We plan to seize this opportunity to help improve the lives of working families, especially for the county workers who have had to live with a 9% pay cut while the county rewards its top executives with raises.
SEIU members hosted a candidates’ forum on Feb. 25 and heard directly from candidates their positions on issues such as the state budget, public pensions and health care.
The current Board of Supervisors continues to make decisions that leave our community behind. We are joining forces with local business and community advocates to make Fresno a better place for all residents.
“The candidate forum was a great success because rank and file members spoke with one voice to determine who will be on our next Board of Supervisors. We got to ask questions directly to the candidates who were seeking our support. That’s a testament to how powerful we are as union members when we stand together and put Community First!”
-Brian Murillo, Eligibility Worker II and incoming COPE Chair
