They make how much?!

On April 17, America’s wealthiest citizens will get a tax break.  They’ll stop paying Social Security taxes because they’ve reached the program’s $117,000 payroll contribution cap while the rest of working Americans continue to pay all year long.

Despite what some Social Security opponents say we all know that Social Security benefits are earned through hard work no matter your income bracket. These benefits help provide financial stability to millions of individuals, families, and communities during times of transition starting at retirement, the onset of a disability, or the loss of a spouse.

It is time for the 1% to stop the attacks on Social Security and strengthen the system by paying the same rate as the rest of us. Click here to sign the petition urging Congress to lift the cap and increase Social Security benefits for all Americans.

With your help we can lift up the voices of many Senators and members of the House of Representatives who understand that Social Security is a foundational system and that millionaires and billionaires must pay the same rate as the rest of us to make it stronger. But there are others who still need to hear from you.

Click now to sign the petition urging Congress to support proposals to lift the cap and strengthen Social Security for all Americans. We’ll deliver the petitions in person on April 17.
