Rachel Welch, SEIU 521 COPE chair of Santa Clara and San Benito Counties spoke at the Secure Choice Board meeting on Feb. 23 thanking the board for moving forward with the feasibility study and market analysis.
Half of the California workers today are projected to retire near poverty.
If implemented, Secure Choice would provide a voluntary, low-risk, automatic-enrollment retirement savings plan for an estimated 6.3 million California workers who currently lack access to retirement savings plans through their jobs.
SEIU Local 521 is working to strengthen our social security system, reform public pensions and help deliver retirement security for more Californians.
