Victory! PERB rules Tulare County broke promises

Tulare County RallyThe PERB Board has ruled in favor of SEIU Local 521 members in Tulare County and ordered the county to “make whole” workers who were denied the flex promotions and merit step increases that had been expressly promised them in a labor contract.

Rachel Welch, SEIU 521 COPE chair of Santa Clara and San Benito Counties spoke at the Secure Choice Board meeting on Feb. 23 thanking the board for moving forward with the feasibility study and market analysis.

Clarence Dodge Scholarship: This scholarship is named after Legacy SEIU Local 715’s first president, Clarence Dodge, and provides 10 winners with $1,500 each for their first year of study.

That’s why we are fighting against income inequality and are joining forces with the Fight For 15 movement and Silicon Valley Rising. When we raise the living wage and minimum wage, we raise the floor for all workers and help rebuild the middle class for a better future for the next generations.
We won a living wage covering county contracts in Santa Clara County in 2014 and are now working toward a living wage for San Mateo County.
