SEIU members and staff, labor allies, elected officials, staff of elected officials, immigration allies, and members of the community attended a training in Salinas on May 19 to help immigrants prepare their paperwork for DACA and DAPA.
“May 19 would have been the day that we could have started accepting applications for DAPA, but thanks to 26 anti-immigrant Governors and Attorneys General, our families and our neighbors will have to wait even longer to experience the American Dream. I took the day off of work to get trained on how to educate our community about DACA and DAPA because I believe that everyone who is willing to work for it should be able to live the American Dream. The anti-immigrant Governors can throw up every road block that they want but it won’t stop us. We know that a rising tide lifts all boats, and it’s time for us to raise the tide for all of our neighbors and their families.”
