“Being in the midst of incredible and very inspiring innovators, builders, thinkers, influencers, mavericks and leaders is amazing! As Colonel Shirley Raguindin remarked, ‘Do what you can in the time that you have in the place that you are.’ Luisa Blue has done this for decades and continues to fight for equality and justice. She’s definitely a role model for our next generation of leaders… definitely for me!”
– Marilyn Mara, PHN, Santa Clara County

According to the organization, the award recognizes those who have achieved outstanding work in their fields and who are recognized for their leadership in the global workplace and their local communities.

FWN is a San Francisco-based non-profit professional organization that helps build women’s capacities to lead and to build the Filipina community’s pipeline of qualified leaders in both the public and private sector.

In addition to her SEIU work, Luisa is a national leader for the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, AFL-CIO and was elected twice as the national president. She continues to serve on the APALA Executive Board.
