A Holiday Message from the SEIU API Officers
Greetings! It has been a proud year for SEIU Asian Pacific Islander Caucus members. In April, we re-launched our caucus and, by working together, we have re-defined our key priorities. API Caucus members are on the front lines in the fight for economic justice and in The Fight For $15. We are fighting for immigrant rights and racial justice.

FIGHT FOR $15
Fight For $15
Caucus members raised their voices in hundreds of Fight For $15 demonstrations from coast-to-coast. With tens of thousands of hardworking Asian Americans working to support their families on low wages – particularly in the area of home health care, caucus members have become a potent and vital force in the struggle for a living wage.
Caucus members continued to build civic engagement and participation in political action. In Nevada, members are strengthening the partnership between iAMERICA, the Nevada APALA chapter and Mi Familia Vota, which formed the iAPIA Nevada Vote Coalition, to organize our communities in Nevada in a civic engagement pilot program that will propel both communities in the forefront of general elections in 2016.
iAPIA Nevada Vote launched.
Our Caucus has had many highlights in 2015.
- We signed on to the Unity Statement from the immigrant community delivered to Pope Francis during his September visit to the U.S.
- We aided the victims of the Nepal earthquake through our We Care for Nepal efforts.
