First meeting with new Fresno County Chapter executive board

Fresno group shot

Our new and returning Fresno County Chapter officers held an exciting first meeting in Fresno to talk about how to move our local forward. Localwide President Gwyn Harshaw came to the event to swear in our officers. After accepting the gavel from outgoing President Laura Basua, our new Chapter President Riley Talford said he is looking forward to bringing new ideas to the chapter. “We have to find ways to include more people and be transparent.” He spent time with the group talking about increasing our use of technology to making sure that every member could connect and get involved from anywhere.

Board members are focused and ready to move forward and overcome all the challenges in Fresno County by building unity and stronger networks at every worksite. They also touted some recent moves by the board of supervisors to talk with SEIU and move away from their reactionary positions. With the talent and vision of our new board, Fresno County is ready to unite, fight and win together.
