Assemblymember Evan Low hosted an Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month Reception and Celebration on May 25, 2016.
At this event, Assemblymember Evan Low gave awards to contributors and advocates of the advancement of the Asian Pacific Islander communities.
Assemblymember Low awarded Luisa Blue the recognition for her tireless work in the advancement of the Asian Pacific Islander communities and said:
“We celebrate the strength of our diversity and her leadership within SEIU local 521. We are all better together and Luisa fights every day to unite us and continue the important work of fighting on behalf of SEIU Local 521.”

Of the many, many awards and recognitions Luisa has received over decades-long work in the labor movement, the API recognition was a special one for her.
