On Labor Day, we celebrate the diverse movement of working people who are building a better future for all families. We are united in the fights for economic, racial, immigrant and environmental justice.  Together, we are changing the national debate around inequality and what families need to get ahead.

Region 1

South Bay Labor CLC Labor Day BBQ & Picnic
When: Monday, Sept. 5
Time: 11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Where: Alum Rock Park (Log Cabin picnic grounds)
15350 Penitencia Creek Rd, San Jose
Limited free parking passes; first come, first served
Bring the whole family: Barbecue; arts & crafts booth; playground; face painting.

Region 2

Marina’s 2016 Labor Day Parade!
When: Saturday, Sept. 3
Time: 11 a.m, with festival to follow until 4 p.m.
Where: Parade starts at Crescent and Reservation Road in Marina, and travels to Vince DiMaggio Park; festival continues at Vince DiMaggio Park.
March with SEIU 521 members in the parade and Purple Up to show your Union pride on Labor Day Weekend!
Fun for the whole family! The parade & festival will feature a Wells Fargo Stage Coach, bounce houses, face painting, food trucks, live music, beer garden and a chili cook off.

Monterey Bay CLC Annual Labor Day Picnic – BBQ Lunch
When: Monday, Sept. 5
Time: Noon – 4:00 p.m.
(BBQ lunch served from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
Where: DeLaveaga Park, Santa Cruz Park entrance, 850 Branciforte Dr., Santa Cruz
REDUCE-REUSE-RECYCLE – Please bring your own reusable plate, cloth napkins, cups, and utensils.

Fresno-Madera-Tulare-Kings Labor Day Family Pancake Breakfast
When: Monday, Sept. 5
Time: 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. (with program and fun after)
Where: Pirates Bay at the Fresno Fairgrounds (entrance & free parking on Chance Ave.)
Admission: $10.00 (children under 12 eat for free)
Activities: Pirate’s Cove Playground, Kiddy Cake Walk, Bounce House, raffle, pet adoptions, current events, local candidates, voter registration, citizenship resources, 2016 election information, and Union Park & Worker’s Memorial.
