SEIU Members Are Creating a Better California

This November we have the opportunity to tackle structural racism, advance economic justice, stand up for immigrant rights and move California forward on environmental justice. We will achieve this by electing candidates who stand with working people and by voting for ballot measures that support our agenda.

If you haven’t signed a pledge card yet, talk to a Steward or Internal Organizer about how to amplify your voice in this election.

Our Voice, Our Power

RSA-20160303-john-adams“We were very well received in Sacramento. It was my first time lobbying and it was great. A lot of the offices had Fight for $15 posters. All the legislators’ staff members we talked to about Secure Choice (SB1234) were supportive and really knowledgeable. If you have a chance to lobby, go.”
– John Adams, Fresno County Planner III

Justice for Immigrants

The Supreme Court denied the request to rehear the DAPA and expanded DACA case after a 9th justice is appointed which means these immigration programs remain temporarily blocked. While this is disappointing, we will continue to fight for DAPA and expanded DACA and immigrant justice. Now more than ever, we must make our voices heard on November 8. We will continue to stand up for our families, our community, and our future.

COPE for the Future

At a time when the voices of workers are being drowned out by powerful corporations whose sole mission is to maximize profits by squeezing labor, we need to reclaim our power and voice in politics.

The Committee oPolitical Education (COPE) collects workers’ individual contributions to build one united voice in politics that promotes better living standards for all, not just the few.

THANK YOU. As a COPE member, you receive COPE Connection because you are a key contributor to our political voice. We hope the COPE Connection keeps you engaged in the issues that affect our communities so you can be an informed activist in yours.
