Puzder Withdraws from Nomination as Labor secretary

Workers just delivered a MAJOR victory against the rigged economy.

As dozens of hardworking Americans in the Fight for $15 movement prepared to sit peacefully in the offices of influential senators to show their opposition to President Trump’s nominee for secretary of Labor, Andy Puzder withdrew his name from the nomination.

Lobbyists for restaurant and retail corporations had assembled in a war room at their headquarters to devise a campaign to demand senators approve the former CKE executive for the cabinet position. According to multiple sources, Senate Republicans lacked the votes to move his confirmation forward despite a massive corporate push for his approval.

Mounting public pressure and a steady stream of revelations torpedoed his nomination, the first of Trump’s cabinet picks to withdraw.

We’re demanding that next nominee be a real Secretary of Labor, someone who stands WITH workers, someone who stands WITH labor unions and faith communities, WITH women and immigrants. When we’re united, we can win!
