Santa Clara County Steward Janet Diaz recommended we start a GoFundme page for our members and their families affected by the floods and storms in February.
As a member leader, Janet encourages our members and co-workers to donate what they can. We almost reached our initial goal of $5,000.
Here is some information you can use in an email or when talking to members:
Many of our SEIU 521 union brothers and sisters in Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties have been affected by the storms and floods in February 2017. Families had to be evacuated, belongings have been destroyed, and houses are in need of clean up. We are accepting donations of items to help replace what was lost, as well as having started a GoFundMe for monetary assistance.
An SEIU 521 Hardship Committee is being started to distribute the donations. Please donate to help out our union members and their families in need. Thank you!
