Bargaining with Monterey County management is under way. Our first meeting was on January 28, and going forward we will be meeting on certain Mondays and Wednesdays. The next session is on March 9.
At the March 2 bargaining session, the union presented several proposals to the County as we are developing a master contract. They include Negotiation Ground Rules; definition of both Parties; Recognition – which covers values & dignity; Non-discrimination; Union Rights; Labor- Management Mtgs; Health & Safety; Rest & Meal Periods all with new, enhanced, and/or clarified language.

Contract Action Team Meeting
When: Tuesday, March 8 at 5:30 p.m.
Where: SEIU Local 521 Office, 334 Monterey Street in Salinas
All CAT’s should attend this important planning meeting. Dinner will be provided to those who RSVP by March 7. RSVP with your name and phone number at salinas.rsvp@seiu521.org.

Board of Supervisors Meeting
When: Tuesday, March 8
Where: Government Center
At this Board of Supervisors meeting, the County will receive a presentation on the upcoming budget. The agenda should be out later this week giving specific times so we have several leaders from your bargaining team attending. Bargaining Team members will be attending this meeting and speaking during public comment about the budget.
Purple Thursdays and Tuesdays
Wear PURPLE and/or your SEIU Local 521 gear every Tuesday and Thursday to show support for our bargaining team and to show the county we are UNITED to FIGHT for a fair contract and WIN for our Monterey County community.
Worksite Meeting and Rallys
