SEIU 521 Leaders,
Today, the U.S. Supreme Court issued its decision in the Janus v. AFSCME case. Over the past year and a half, we have been preparing and mobilizing our member leaders across the local to rise up in our all public employee worksites.
Now, your leadership is needed to ensure we are staying union strong across our local by joining one of these critical efforts:
- Drop in at a phone bank on Tuesday, July 3rd and Thursday, July 5th, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at our Bakersfield, Fresno, Salinas, San Jose, Santa Cruz, and Visalia offices.
- Join our team for one day or more on lost time to work side by side with us in the field to engage our union family at the worksite. Contact your worksite organizer for more information.
- Stand in solidarity with all union workers: Take a picture of you and your co-workers holding up a #UNION sign, then post the picture on social media (on our Facebook page @SEIU521, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) using the hashtags #Union and #WeRise. Now is the time to stand together. Distribute the flyer with instructions.
More than ever it is important that we stick together to keep fighting for our families, our community, and our union. No court case will stop us from standing up for our jobs and our community. We hope to see you next week.
