Help elect John Laird for a stronger California
John Laird is the workers' choice to fill an important Senate seat.

When Governor Schwarzenegger tried to convince voters to pass "reforms" in 2005, John Laird worked hard to expose the truth about what those "reforms" meant to schools.
Voters sided with John Laird
and the governor learned what Californians really value.
When big business tried to weaken laws protecting
overtime, lunch periods and breaks,
John Laird stood strong against them on the Assembly Labor Committee.

And John Laird, as budget chair for the Assembly, delivered the
only on-time, balanced budget
in the last 10 years.
John Laird has fought against offshore drilling. His opponent, a former big oil executive, still supports dangerous offshore drilling that Californians don't want.

Why does this race matter to us?
Part of what makes California's system broken is that the majority can't pass a budget. If we elect John Laird, we'll be just one seat away from having enough votes to pass a budget supported by the majority of Californians. That's why we need workers from all over the state to help fill this seat with the man named "the most effective legislator" by the San Jose Mercury News.
California needs an effective government that works for Californians.
California needs John Laird.
