Q: How do I become an appraiser?
A: For the most current information on required courses and training hours, visit the Office of Real Estate Appraisers at www.orea.ca.gov.

Q: Are you a school?

A: Although we are not an appraisal school, we do offer a variety of OREA approved courses.  As courses are scheduled, they will be listed on our Education page.

Q: How do I file a complaint about a mortgage originator?

A: Contact the Department of Real Estate ( www.dre.ca.gov ), the Department of Corporations ( www.corp.ca.gov ) or the Department of Financial Institutions ( www.dfi.ca.gov ) for a complaint form.

Q: How can I verify that my appraiser is licensed?

A: Contact the Office of Real Estate Appraisers. You can do an online search at www.orea.ca.gov or www.asc.gov.

Q: How can I find an appraiser in my area?

A: A list of our members will soon be available online.  In 2007, you may visit our preferred list of appraisers through our STatewide Appraiser Referral System - coming soon!   To immediately locate an appraiser in your area, visit the OREA appraiser search site.
