General Membership Meeting

Officers Nominations
It’s that time again! Nominations are now being accepted for the positions listed below. You can nominate yourself or a co-worker who you feel will represent you best. For your convenience, you may phone in your nominations by calling the union office at 447-2560 ext. 3571 or voice your nomination at the membership meeting listed below. The following is a list of the open positions:
President
The President shall preside over all executive committee and general membership meetings.
The President has the authority to appoint any committee necessary to the functioning of the chapter.
The President has the power to interpret the Constitution and By laws subject to approval of the Chapter Executive Committee.
The President will be one of the two persons authorized to counter-sign all orders on funds, financial contracts, and agreements concerning the chapter after such expenditure of funds, financial contracts, and agreements have been approved by the Executive Committee.
Vice President
The Vice President shall assist the President in the operation of all affairs.
In the absence of the President or the President’s inability to serve, the Vice President shall assume the duties of the President.
In the event the office of the President is vacant, the Vice President shall assume that office for the remainder of the term upon approval of the Executive Committee. The Vice President will be asked to volunteer.
Secretary
The Secretary shall keep a correct record of the proceedings of all Executive Committee and general membership meetings for the Chapter and make copies available to the members at the next general membership meeting. A copy shall also be made available to the Secretary of the Local Union upon request.
Chief Shop Steward
Assist in recruiting, training and evaluation of Shop Stewards.
Set up and oversee Shop Steward Elections.
Represent Shop Stewards on the Bargaining Committee.
