In order to be accepted as a candidate a petition with twenty five (25) signatures of members must be submitted to the Unit 12 Election Committee c/o SEIU Local 521, 5228 E. Pine Ave. Fresno, CA 93727. Petitions will be available from the Election Committee or at the Union office.
96% of voters from Bargaining Unit 12 membership voted YES for Temporary Office Closure (TOC) Agreement 2010/2011.
Thank you to all membership for participating!
On June 22, the Board of Supervisors approved the TOC Agreement.
If you have questions regarding TOC please contact your leadership or call the Union office at 447-2560.
Temporary Office Closure (TOC)
Employees subject to this agreement (excluding employees regularly working part-time work schedule) will take 40 hours of TOC (unpaid time off) in Fiscal Year 2010/2011, to be taken between June 14, 2010 and June 12, 2011.
However, their pay will be adjusted over the remaining pay periods in the fiscal year (e.g. approximately 1.54 hours per pay period over 26 pay periods, approximately 1.60 hours per pay period over 25 pay periods, etc.) so that the financial impact of the unpaid time off hours is minimized as much as possible.
Mandatory Furlough
The County agrees not to impose Mandatory Furlough pursuant to Personnel Rule 12 during fiscal year 2010/2011.

Fresno County Members Vote to Save Jobs
July 2, 2009 - In order to minimize layoffs to Fresno County workers in this time of budget crisis, workers in Bargaining Units 2, 3, 4, 12, 22, 31 and 36 voted yes on Temporary Office Closure (TOC). The 2% cut will be offset by the 3% increase workers are scheduled to receive in December 2009 and is a better alternative than the 22% pay cut the County wanted these units to take. » Read more
