SEIU Nurses Earn Honors for Service
The California Board of Registered Nursing heard appeals in Bakersfield in September, the first time in 17 years.
Kern Medical Center nurse practitioner and diabetes educator
Carmen Morales
was honored for her service as a representative on the Board for the last six years. Morales is a member of SEIU Local 521 and the SEIU Nurse Alliance. Also recognized was Grace Course, a member of SEIU Local 721.
The last time the Board was in Bakersfield, I was a student and I never dreamed I would one day be a member of the Board for six years,
Morales said.
