You may also qualify for Medi-Cal. You may still enroll after Jan. 31 f have a qualifying life event such as the loss of a job, death of a spouse or birth of a child, that makes you eligible for coverage through a special enrollment period. Small businesses can sign up for health insurance plans year-round.

SEIU Local 521 is one of only 15 groups that received a $1 million grant in 2013 to conduct community outreach about the availability of affordable health insurance options through Covered California. SEIU signs up hundreds for health care
More than 400 people attended a “last chance” health fair at the Fresno County Fairgrounds on March 22, 2014. SEIU Local 521 and community partners were able to sign up more than 200 for insurance either through Covered California or MediCal. SEIU 521 promotes health care with Sen. Jim Beall
The health fair event was co-hosted in San Jose on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 by State Sen. Jim Beall, Sourcewise, previously Council on Aging Silicon Valley, SEIU Local 521 and Community Health Partnership. The event drew a large crowd anxious to learn about their health care options.
