Santa Cruz City Employees Win New Contract
Over the past year, the 650 members at the City built their strongest CAT network in years. With such thorough preparations, they were able to reverse the backsliding from past contracts negotiated in poor economic times. Their newly ratified MOU boosts take-home by 19% over 3 years, which includes eliminating a 7% deduction for retirement. Remarking on the support shown to City workers by unionists from other Chapters, City bargaining team member Leslie Auerbach said,
