After months of negotiations, the majority voted in favor of a contract that begins to invest in Tulare County and put our community first. On June 16, the Tulare Board of Supervisors signed the agreement. This contract shows that by standing together and staying involved, we can move the county and we can get a contract that values the work we do.
Our new contract has a 3 percent increase in the first year and an additional 1% in year two. It also preserves the sick leave buyback program which allows those of us who have worked 5 years with the county to cash in a portion of our unused sick leave. The county has also agreed to cover increases to our health insurance so that the wins we fought for in the contract aren’t eaten up by increased insurance costs.
