Stanislaus County Chapter prepares to make waves!

Political involvement is important for all our chapters. Stanislaus County members decided this year, for the first time, they’ll consider endorsing a BOS candidate, and they’ll work to renew a local sales tax measure.

Health Benefits Update – November 7, 2011
Stanislaus Health Benefits Update Flyer 11.7.11 (PDF)
SEIU Local 521 and the County are currently engaged in bargaining for a reasonable and fair Health Benefit Plan for SEIU employees.  The County has stated that they WILL provide SEIU Employees an open enrollment benefit plan for 2012 once SEIU and the County come to an agreement.

SEIU will continue to negotiate for Health Benefit with a goal for an agreement that will meet your health needs, and is affordable.  SEIU employees WILL NOT participate in the currant open enrollment process that the County is currently offering.  Once negotiations are complete, the plan options and cost for 2012, we will present this to you.  The process will be the same as always, you will have the opportunity to vote on the plan options.  We will keep you informed.

Health Benefits Update – October 27, 2011
Stanislaus Health Benefits Update Flyer 10.27.11 (PDF)
SEIU Local 521 and AFSCME continue to work with Stanislaus County to find a reasonable agreement on healthcare benefits.  SEIU has told the County that their proposal is too costly for our members and we have given too much already.  The County must allow you to enroll for healthcare benefits, but as of now we cannot inform you of what your costs will be.  You will still need to sign up during the open enrollment period and you will continue to receive health coverage.
