RUSD Bargaining Survey March 2012 (PDF)
Our contract is set to expire with the District on June 30 of this year. For the fourth straight year economic news out of Sacramento has not been good as our State continues to struggle with the funding of public schools. Your Bargaining Team is requesting that you fill out and return this survey as they work to develop a contract that you can support. The Bargaining Team will be meeting to formulate our proposals at that time.
Your survey can be returned to Sandi King, Robert Kurtz or Ruth Fritz at their respective work sites no later than March 23rd for consideration.

Disability and Life Insurance Vote Results
Membership Votes Down Insurance Program
Disability & Life Vote Results (PDF)
On Tuesday, February 28 at a special meeting in the staff lounge at Riverdale High School, the classified workers met for a special meeting and vote on Disability & Life Insurance program provided by Diversified Benefits. Members were sent notice of this special election to their residence. Joe VanOrsdale , a consultant from Real & Letson was at the meeting to answer questions and explain how the program works. After all the questions were asked by the members, a final vote was taken. The classified members of SEIU Local 521 voted down the insurance coverage. The vote was 11 to 9.
This notice is to inform all members that they have no disability or life insurance that had previously been voted on in October. This announcement concludes a long an sometime confusing chain of events. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this process has brought to our members as it was only our desire to help the membership with reasonable priced insurance coverage.
