Tulare County members ratified contract in July 2012

Tulare County members voted overwhelmingly to ratify the contract negotiated by their bargaining team.
The contract restores some of the wages lost when the Tulare County Board of Supervisors last year reneged on their promise to unfreeze promotions. SEIU 521 is waiting for a ruling from the Public Employment Relations Board to get back the rest of the money.
The bargaining team appreciates the support we’ve had from members, and we’re glad we were able to negotiate an agreement that members felt represented their interests. Now that we have ratified the contract, we can move forward to work for a better Tulare County for everyone.
—Greg Gomez, Tulare County Chapter president
After the Board of Supervisors ratifies the contract, merit steps will be paid out beginning July 29, and workers will see them beginning on the Aug. 21 paycheck.
