SCCOE Bargaining Update 11/20/2020

Santa Clara County Office of Education Chapter
We Reached a Tentative Agreement
Vote Online from Monday, Nov. 30 to Monday, Dec. 7
We reached a Tentative Agreement with COE regarding our working conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Click here to review the agreement: https://bit.ly/SCCOE-TA-112020
Our Bargaining Team urges you to vote YES so that we can ensure that management abides by the safety guidelines and workplace conditions agreed to in the agreement.
Tentative Agreement Summary:
- Management agreed to provide appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), including higher levels for employees who are at higher risk (custodians, those working with students with higher aerosolizing procedures, etc.), and that exposure at work would not require workers to use their time off leave, even if they are exposed multiple times.
- During distance learning, employees will have the choice of working from home or working on-site. OTBS workers should continue their pre-agreement schedule of at home and in-office days unless given a 10-day notice. Because management’s priority is to keep all workers employed, some workers who are unable to perform their job duties at home and do not have in-person job duties may be re-assigned to alternate work instead of being laid off.
- The stipend that we fought hard for was delivered outside of the agreement to all bargaining units.
The online vote will take place via Election Buddy from Monday, Nov. 30, 8 a.m. until Monday, December 7, 5 p.m.
