Meet Our Bargaining Team

We go into wage negotiations starting in June 2021, and we are looking for a strong bargaining team to improve our wages and one non-economic article.  This is an exciting opportunity for anyone that feels they can devote time to our union to further our power.  As a negotiator your responsibilities will be to ensure that we get the best contact as possible. We have the option of allowing 5 members to be negotiators.  There are two vacancies that we need to fill.  If you feel that you would like to participate in negotiations, we encourage to reach out to one of our bargaining team members.  

Communication with Union Members 

We have some exciting news to improve the communication between members. Have you ever used WhatsApp? We want members to join our group chat so we can keep in touch.  COVID-19 has made it difficult to reach out to each other and we do not know how long teleworking will continue.  Some members may say, “but it’s another app I don’t want on my phone!”  The question really is – Do you want your working conditions to change, do you want better wages, and what can I do to make sure we are all are involved to make this happen? Communication is a small but very important piece to make sure we are listening and supporting our sisters and brothers.  We want to encourage you to join the SEIU RCS Membership group chat.  The purpose of the group chat is to connect with other members, find out the latest news, and if you have any concerns, you can reach out to other union members and get answers.  Remember, YOU Are the UNION and we are only as strong as we are united and all contribute our help to our union.

Our Contract IOnline 

In June we will be bargaining for wages and one non-economic article.  A non-economic article is something that does not cost the agency any money, such as discipline, grievances, and working procedures (is there a better way for teleworking, etc.). Our bargaining team will send out a survey to solicit suggestions as to what non-economic articles you want to improve and reasonable wages. 

Our bargaining team encourages you to review our contract so we can build a better working environment for all of us. Stay tuned for our union survey.
