2024 NEGOTIATIONS TEAM NOMINATION PROCESS AND TIMELINE

Each member of the negotiations team has met and will commit to fulfilling the following criteria:

A member in good standing
Have a passion for & commitment to building toward CCPU vision
Have knowledge of providers’ issues, and the child care system, or be willing to learn
Willing to commit to training on our union, bargaining, and building power to win
Be a good communicator: both communicate to members and listen to what providers’ needs are
Track record of involvement in the union, interested in involving new providers. Alternatively, advocacy experience in another forum.
Overall represent & are supportive/committed to supporting CCPU’s diversity: new and experienced providers, range of race/language/gender, licensed and license-exempt providers, geography
Available and willing to join daytime and evening meetings with the state and prep/report back to leaders and members.
After accepting the nomination, share a short biography/statement about why you would like to be a part of the negotiations team.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:

Monday, July 8 @ 7:00 am – The nomination period opens.
Friday, July 19 @ 5:00 pm – The nomination period closes.
Monday, July 22 – Nominees will be notified about their nomination.
Wednesday, July 24 by 5 pm – Nominees must give both written (via e-mail) and verbal notice of their acceptance of nomination.
Monday, July 29 – Wednesday, July 31 – Electronic election will be conducted.
Thursday, August 1 – Results of elections announced to the membership.
