Extreme weather conditions continue to affect SEIU Local 521 members across various California regions. We encourage all residents to adhere to local, county and state safety notices, including evacuation orders. We send our love and support to families impacted by flooding in the Pajaro Community. On this page, you will find important safety alerts, and ways you can support those impacted.

TEMPORARY EVACUATION POINTS: NEW
All TEPs are open 24 hours. Evacuees who want to go to an Emergency Shelter but need transportation should go to a TEP to make arrangements.

Donation Acceptance
The Community Foundations for Monterey and Santa Cruz counties are taking donations to assist Pajaro residents impacted by the recent flooding.
Donations will provide emergency assistance and relief through local nonprofits for needs, including food, emergency shelter, financial assistance to those evacuated, support for first responders, as well as recovery efforts.
Bulk items can be delivered to Second Harvest Food Bank at 800 Ohlone Parkway in Watsonville. Raíces y Cariño is also collecting physical donations such as water, diapers, toilet paper, clothing that is new or gently used, and blankets between 10AM-6PM at 1205 Freedom Blvd Unit 3B, in the back of the parking lot.
Please keep in mind that the most effective way to help the victims of the flooding is through monetary donations to the foundations.

A shelter location is located at the Lake Isabella Senior Center, located at 6405 Lake Isabella Boulevard.

ReadyKern is a state-of-the-art emergency notification system that alerts residents and businesses about natural disasters and other crises. The new emergency notification system enables Kern County to provide essential information quickly in various situations, such as earthquakes, severe weather, fires, floods, or evacuation of buildings or neighborhoods.
