Region 4 Latino Caucus invites you to a pre-recorded enrichment program on our SEIU 521 Facebook page where SEIU 521 union leaders present stories, poems, drawings, or personal reflections on how Cesar Chavez impacted our work, our life, and our union.

SHOWCASE YOUR ART AND ADD YOUR VOICE

Win a chance to be one of no more than ten finalists and showcase your creative outlet during our virtual celebration of Cesar Chavez’s birthday and legacy as a labor icon, and be published on our official SEIU 521 Facebook on March 31. We’ll also show the video to our union family of 40,000 members.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA: Any worker represented by SEIU 521 is eligible for submission and participation. The Latino Caucus invites every member of our union family to submit their response to the question “What does Cesar Chavez mean to me in today’s world?”

Is it easier or harder to organize coworkers since the coalition of Filipino and Mexican farmworkers organized their historic strike in the early 1960s? What difference has Cesar Chavez made in your life? Tell us a personal story that relates to Cesar Chavez or recite one of his speeches. Paint or draw Cesar or write a poem.

Be creative! Any creative methods are acceptable. See the submission form below for suggested ideas. The last chance to submit your art is before Wednesday, March 17th by 11:59 PM.

  1. Submitters should save the date for the evening on Wednesday, March 24th for a required virtual meeting. In the event you’re a finalist, you will be required to join the meeting.
