Congratulations on your new job and the joy that comes along with new opportunities! You may be feeling nervous, excited, or a full range of emotions as you embark on this new professional journey. But you should know that you are not alone! As a new employee, you are represented by our union, SEIU 521.
Learn what it means to become a union member by attending a new employee orientation. Our union strength comes from all of us joining and supporting our union to protect our contract and working conditions.
Section 3.17 of our contract states, “All new workers shall be scheduled and entitled to attend new hire orientation, or Department orientation where they are held in place of new hire orientation.”Â
In order to notify your supervisor/manager of the needed paid release time, please sign up to attend one of the following New Employee Orientations presented by SEIU 521 by choosing a time below and registering in advance.
