California’s child care system was already in crisis before the pandemic, and now our struggles have only gotten worse. Over 5,000 child care providers have closed their doors in 2020, while thousands more are facing challenges that are only getting harder. But unions are made for this exact moment. To create real change, we have to stand together and fight!
On Wednesday, September 30, 2020, we’ll be taking our voices directly to Gov. Newsom, with car caravans and socially distant press conferences at four of his offices across the state. We will no longer be ignored or left behind. Our united voices will be heard, and we will hold the governor accountable for the promises he made to family child care providers.
SAVE THE DATE! Join us on Wednesday, September 30 at one of the four locations below. Face masks are highly encouraged and will be provided if needed. Children’s safety is our priority so please practice proper safety protocols.

EVENT: Prep at UDW office, third floor at 8:00 AM, then at 8:30 AM begin a light march to State Capitol (North Steps) for a socially distant rally beginning at 9:00 AM. Members and allies are also welcome to meet at the Capitol at 9:00 AM for a press conference.
