Thank you for electing Riley Talford and John Adams to our Fresno County Employees Retirement Association Board!

The results are in! With your help SEIU members Riley Talford and John Adams have been elected to leadership positions on our FCERA Board – the race was close, with John Adams winning by only one vote. Every single vote truly counted in this election; thank you for voting to protect our retirement!
As frontline workers themselves, Riley and John are committed to putting your interests first and protecting our retirment. They plan to implement wise investment strategies to fund our retirement and will foster a culture of transparency and open communication between FCERA and Fresno County workers.
This victory is proof that when we stick together, we win. The FCERA election is just the beginning – as a union, our next step is to bargain for a new employee contract that invests in the frontline workers that serve Fresno County. Let’s carry this unity forward into 2018!

The Fresno County Employees’ Retirement Association (FCERA) Board makes the decision on your retirement benefits. You have the power to elect individuals onto that board.
SEIU Local 521 Fresno County Members Support Riley Talford and John Adams for FCERA. Riley and John have professional experience in money management and strong track records of proven leadership and transparency – they will put your interests as workers first!
Riley Talford – Running for General Membership Full Term Seat
Riley has served Fresno County as a Supervising Juvenile Correctional Officer for the last 14 years. He has a long history of fighting for workers’ rights – in 2014 and again in 2016 Riley lobbied against harmful pension reform at the state capitol. He believes all workers deserve a dignified retirement, and has fought hard to ensure that Fresno County workers can maintain their standard of living when they complete their careers. For the past six years Riley has helped his coworkers have a voice on the job in his role as union steward and Fresno County Chapter President for SEIU Local 521. Riley is an experienced real estate investor and maintains a diversified stock portfolio – he is committed to growing our retirement fund with strategic investment practices.

John Adams – Running for General Membership Partial Term Seat
Before taking his first position with Fresno County in the economic development department 15 years ago, John put his MBA in Strategic Management and Marketing to use in the private sector, where he managed hundreds of thousands of dollars as a Purchasing Manager, in addition to handling million dollar trust funds. John also served in the Fresno County community development department before transitioning to his current position in the planning and public works department. He has been an outspoken advocate for Retirement Security for years; in 2015 John lobbied in Sacramento in favor of the Secure Choice Act, a Senate Bill that would allow low-wage and minimum-wage workers retirement options. As a member of the SEIU 521 Bargaining Team, John has also been instrumental in securing lower healthcare costs for Fresno County Workers.

Be sure to vote Riley Talford for the General Full Term Seat and John Adams for the General Partial Term Seat.
Ballots will be mailed to your home on October 23, 2017.  Follow the instructions carefully, and return your ballots as soon as possible to the Fresno County Elections Office.  Last day to vote is November 16.
